The New Bulldog: Zack Greer

With his fifth year of eligibility granted to him by the NCAA because of the somewhat unknown messy Duke incident of 2006, All-Time NCAA goal scorer Zack Greer is going to transfer to Bryant University to play for his former Duke coach Mike Pressler. This works out for all parties involved except for Duke. Bryant gets some exposure for their lacrosse team in its first Division I season. Mike Pressler gets an All-American to play on his first Bryant Division I team. Zack Greer will probably end up being the governor of Rhode Island because he will score a crapload of goals for Bryant.

The only negatives for Greer is that he will not be allowed to go to the postseason and win a national championship because of Bryant’s recent move into Division I. Not that Bryant could get in, but the Northeast Conference isn’t terribly difficult. At least he will be able to have a good month off between the college season and the MLL draft. He should be well rested for the summer of 2009 to play for whoever ends up with the first pick in the MLL. Greer also won’t be exposed as much as he was at Duke, but he can take the opportunity to use this season as a transition year into becoming a professional player and coach. I am sure he could end up coaching any Division I team in about ten years. The guy knows how to score goals!
