Cortland State vs Ithaca- This game was not even close as Cortland heads to its third straight National Championship game, avenging an earlier loss to Ithaca 16-5. This game wasn’t even close as the only quarter the Bombers had more than one goal scored was the first quarter.
Salisbury vs Gettysburg- The Bullets almost pulled off a win over Salisbury, who was missing their starting and back up goalies due to an alleged vandalism incident. Salisbury was able to pull though with their 3rd string goalie and win 11-10 in double overtime.
Salisbury and Cortland will meet for the third straight year in the DIII National Championship Game. Cortland won 13-12 in OT in 2006, Salisbury won 15-9 in 2007. The pick will have to come later in the week when we see if Salisbury’s goalies are cleared to play. Salisbury is going for their fifth title in six years, as well as keep their 44 game winning streak alive.
