Here’s what happened in Wednesday’s Division III Quarterfinal games:

Cortland St. vs Middlebury-Cortland won they game in overtime 11-10. I predicted a close game, but I picked the wrong team to win. From the lax.com link it appears that it was an excellent game throughout. Just another example of how you can always figure out the winner of a DIII tournament game before it is played. The better team won.

Ithaca vs Western New England-Another game that went into overtime, Ithaca beat the visiting WNE 13-12. This game was back and fourth in the first half, and was close in the second. This was another game that I thought the underdog had a chance, but just couldn’t pull though.

Gettysburg vs Washington College- For the third time this season, it was the same result for the Bullets. A victory. No contest as they won 12-5 over the Shoremen. I figured this was going to happen.

Salisbury vs Cabrini-The Sea Gulls won their 45th straight game, and are playing for a chance to go to another championship game. Cabrini couldn’t do much in the 15-7 loss. I didn’t think they had much of a chance to win.

What on tap- Semifinal games are Sunday May 18 with Salisbury vs Gettysburg rematch and Cortland trying to avenge their only loss of the year against Ithaca. Once again the better seed gets to host the game, so Salisbury and Cortland will have the homefield advantage. Predictions will come later in the week!
