A week after Hobart announced it was moving back to Division III, the news now is that it is going to stay in Division I, probably due to the fact that most if not all Hobart Alumni disagreed with the decision. Since Alumni usually have a lot of influence over a schools decision making process, Hobart really had no choice but to keep the lacrosse team in Division I.
Its a good decision, while they may be giving up the chance to compete with Salisbury for Division III championships, they will be able to keep more teams in Division I and still compete against good teams. Hobart is doing pretty well against their Division I competition so there was no real good reason for them to move down.
